Dani Garavelli is an award-winning journalist and Scotland on Sunday columnist, the most recent of her awards coming in December at the Write To End Violence Against Women Awards, for the best opinion & and comment piece of 2019.

She is the 2019 Scottish Press Awards Feature Writer of the Year, while she was also the winner of the inaugural Nicola Barry Award, established by Women in Journalism Scotland in memory of the award-winning writer to encourage and recognise powerful reporting and campaigning journalism.

Dani’s Twitter profile also declares her to be a gin drinker, a night owl and book lover, and in agreeing to take part in the Read All About it podcast, she told me that ‘books are one of the few things I am happy to talk about – shutting me up is probably the most difficult part!’
