Teddy Jamieson is a highly-regarded journalist with The Herald newspaper based in Glasgow and is a senior features writer. He is also the author of an excellent memoir, Whose Side Are You On: Sport, The Troubles and Me, which tells the story of him growing up in Northern Ireland, and the role and importance that sport played during The Troubles.

Marvel comics – a gateway drug to a lot of genre fiction

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (along with many other writers!)

3. A book you would recommend to anyone:
50001 Nights at the Movies by Pauline Kael

4. A book you couldn’t be paid to read again:
If I am not enjoying something I stop reading. I have no compunction to finish. So writers I don’t care for I don’t read.

Scabby Queen by Kirstin Innes and Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart
